Military Service
He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 18/08/1943) (Later backdated to 1942). He served with RN 1943. He served in HMC LCA-1375 (In command) with the 529th LCA Flotilla (Carried in HMCS Prince David) 1944. He was present at D-Day in command of an LCA. (He was demobilized.) He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 18/08/1942). He served as Term Lieutenant for UNTD Cadets in HMCS Nonsuch 1949. (He was released 30/09/1949). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (With seniority dated 18/08/1950) He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (He was released.). (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping Certificate.) He was Mentioned-in-Despatches "For distinguished services and gallantry during the invasion of the South of France (in August 1944)."
