He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (S) (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 02/01/1955). He served in HMCS York for UNTD 1955-1957. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/03/1959). In 1959 he served in HMCS York. (He was released.)
