He was living in York Mills ON at the time of his recruitment. He played defence for the University of Toronto hockey team which won the coveted Queen's Cup in 1951. Drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks, the legendary Conn Smythe advised a career in business. He joined his father at City Buick and there began his 50-year association with General Motors. Representing the riding of York North, he was elected to Parliament in 1962. |
